Always choose courier delivery — When you order in a Polish store, pick courier delivery to an address — never a parcel locker (InPost, etc.). Lockers can't accept forwarding.
Ship to your Polish address — Your parcel must be sent by courier to the address we gave you. Enter it exactly as shown in My Warehouse.
We handle the rest — We receive your parcel, do everything you set in the declaration (consolidate, repack, check), and forward it straight to your door in the UK.
Customs, VAT and duty
Since 2021 every parcel sent from the EU to the United Kingdom needs a customs declaration. Here is exactly what that means for you.
Who pays
You do, as the recipient. We ship on DAP terms, so UK taxes are not included in our delivery price. FedEx pays HMRC on your behalf and then bills you — usually before or just after delivery — adding their own customs clearance fee.

VAT is calculated on the value of the goods plus shipping and insurance, not on the goods alone. The £135 threshold, however, counts the goods only.
Most parcels pay no duty at all
Under the EU–UK trade agreement, goods originating in the European Union enter the UK duty-free. Since most purchases from Polish shops are made in Poland or elsewhere in the EU, duty usually does not apply and only VAT remains. This is precisely why we ask you to state the country of manufacture — it is what makes the exemption work.
What you must declare
Every parcel needs six pieces of information:
- What it is — specific, e.g. "cotton T-shirt", not "clothes"
- What you paid — the price and the currency
- What it is made of — cotton, plastic, metal, paper
- Where it was made — the country of manufacture, not the seller's country
- What it is for — personal use, not for resale
- A link to the product page, if you have one
A declaration saying "parcel" will be rejected. UK customs will hold the shipment or return it at your expense, so please fill this in carefully when you declare an incoming parcel in your account.
Worth knowing before you buy
Polish shops include Polish VAT of 23% in their prices, and UK import VAT of 20% is charged on top when the parcel arrives. The Polish VAT cannot be reclaimed on purchases of this kind. On a £30 item this is pennies; on a £500 purchase it is real money, so factor it into your decision.
Gift relief (£39) does not apply to parcels you buy for yourself and have forwarded to your own address — that is not a gift, and we will not declare it as one.
Not every seller ships to the UK
Allegro.pl often has better prices and a wider selection than UK stores — but many Polish sellers only ship within Poland. Postiva gives you a Polish address so you never miss a deal.
